With the support of In the framework of a project “Upscaling of Sustainable Forest Management and Certification in Vietnam” coordinated by the German Development Cooperation Organization (GIZ) and the Management Board for Forestry Projects, Vietnam Forest Certification Office (VFCO) in collaboration with GIZ will organize a training course to enhance the capacity of technical staff in Song Kon Company Ltd in Phu Yen province in implementing sustainable forest management and forest certification according to the Vietnam Forest Certification Scheme (VFCS/PEFC).

The training will take place from 22-24 August 2023 and will focus on the following contents: (i) Vietnam Forest Certification Scheme (VFCS); (ii) VFCS/PEFC ST 1003:2019 Sustainable Forest Management Standard; (iii) VFCS/PEFC ST 1004:2019 Group Sustainable Forest Management Standard; (iv) Developing a forest management plan, management system and implementation procedures for sustainable forest management;  (v) Environmental and social impact assessment; and (vi) Common non conformities in sustainable forest management.

The training aims to enhance the capacity and readiness of Song Kon Company Ltd in preparing documents and implementing sustainable forest management and forest certification for the entire forest area of the company in Phu Yen province.
