On February 13th 2025, the smallholder forest management group in Doan Hung district, Phu Tho province was granted a VFCS/PEFC sustainable forest management certification by GFA Certification GmbH for 2.778 ha of Acacia hybrid and Acacia mangium plantations. The group consists 1,613 household members, with Acacia plantations across 9 communes in Doan Hung district namely: Bang Doan, Bang Luan, Ca Dinh, Phu Lam, Minh Luong, Ngoc Quan, Hung Xuyen, Phuc Lai and Tay Coc.
The certificate is represented by the Sustainable Forest Development Cooperative – North Region. This is the 41st forest owner/group to be certified as sustainable forest management under the Vietnam Forest Certification Scheme. All plantation areas have been planted from 2018 to 2024.
The achievement of the VFCS/PEFC sustainable forest management certification by the household group in Doan Hung district is an important step in responsible forest management and resource utilization contributing to environmental protection and promoting sustainable livelihoods for participating households.
