The Sustainable Forest Certification Office arranged a training session for An Viet Phat Group’s technical personnel on VFCS/PEFC Sustainable Forest Management standards as part of the Group’s capacity support strategy. The training course was held on February 19, 2022 in Tuyen Quang province. The VFCS ST 1003:2019 Sustainable Forest Management Standard, VFCS / PEFC ST 1001:2019 Group Forest Management Standards, and rules on the usages of VFCS logo and PEFC trademarks were the topics covered in the course. The training course was held in two formats: face-to-face and online with total 29 participants, 19 of whom engaged directly. The participants are leaders of the An Viet Phat Group, leaders of the An Viet Phat Forestry Cooperative, and key officials implementing sustainable forest management and forest certification in Ha Giang, Bac Kan, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, Yen Bai, Quang Ninh, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh.

An Viet Phat Group was founded in 2014 and is now Southeast Asia’s biggest producer of wood pellets. With approximately 1.600 labors and 8 member firms, 4 branches, 22 representative offices, and 13 factories around Vietnam, the Group has cooperated thousands of communities and hourseholds in planting forest and practicing sustainable forest management. The Group is actively implementing the VFCS/PEFC certificate of sustainable forest management to assure the legal source of raw materials and satisfy the standards of sustainable forest management.Previously, on February 14, 2022, Mr. Vu Tan Phuong – Director of Sustainable Forest Certification Office had a meeting with leaders of An Viet Phat Group at the Group’s office in Ho Chi Minh City on cooperation and support to the Group in implementing sustainable forest management and forest certification under VFCS/PEFC.
