In 2 days, 13th and 14th July 2022, Vietnam Forest Certification Office(VFCO) organized a training course for auditors to implement certification services on PEFC Chain of Custody (CoC) standard. This is the first training course taught by a Vietnamese expert who has been trained and recognized through the program “PEFC pool experts”.
More than 20 official students and observers who are experts and members of the accreditation body, certification bodies, and research organization participated in the course. The contents of the training course includes: PEFC ST 2001: 2020 Trademarks rule – requirements; PEFC ST 2002:2020 Chain of Custody of Forest and Tree Based Products – Requirements; PEFC ST 2003:2020 Requirements for Certification Bodies operating Certification against the PEFC International Chain of Custody Standard.
Before the training course, students have been provided sufficient information and materials to understand the basic requirements of the training content. In addition to the theory portion of the training, the trainees were required to participate in group activities, assess case studies, and have discussions. At the end of the course, each student will take a transparent and fair online test, in accordance with the regulations of PEFC International, to be certified and granted a certificate of course completion when meeting the requirements.
The results of the survey and evaluation of the training course showed that the trainees had positive feedback and appreciated the quality and organization of the training course.
