On June 12–13, 2025, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Forest Certification Office (VFCO) organized a special training on VFCS/PEFC ST 1003 – Sustainable Forest Management Standard.
18 participants from certification bodies and companies have participated in the training.
During the training, it provided details of the Vietnam forestry section and legislation governing forest management, as well as the Vietnam Forest Certification Scheme (VFCS). The training also highlighted the requirements for sustainable forest management, especially the requirements on socio-environmental impacts, and common non-conformities found in sustainable forest management. Trainees and lecturers shared their perspectives and practical issues to have a better understanding of Vietnamese laws and regulations related to sustainable forest management requirements.
The training provides in-depth information and knowledge to trainees and is an important foundation in conducting an audit assessment for certification, building and implementing sustainable forest management to meet the requirements of legality, sustainability, and environmental integrity for forest management in Vietnam.
