On November 29, 2023, in Hanoi, Department of Forestry organized the Conference on promoting sustainable forest management and forest certification with the content of evaluating the implementation of sustainable forest management and forest certification, discussing, sharing experiences and proposals solutions to be implemented in the near future. Participating in the Conference, there were over 60 delegates from Department of Forestry, Forest Protection Department of Tuyen Quang, Yen Bai, Thua Thien Hue provinces, Vietnam Timber and Forest Products Association, Vietnam Forest Owners Association, some forest owners, wood processing companies, certification bodies, experts and other stakeholders.

At the Conference, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Tiep, Deputy Director of VFCO, presented and shared the results of implementation and development orientation of the Vietnam Forest Certification Scheme (VFCS/PEFC) in the coming time. The delegates also discussed  and shared about the effectiveness of forest certification, difficulties and challenges as well as proposed solutions to promote the implementation of sustainable forest management in the coming time.
