From September 22–24, 2025, the Vietnam Forest Certification Office (VFCO), in collaboration with the National Agricultural Extension Center and the Bac Ninh Provincial Agricultural Extension Center, organized a training course on linking production and developing plantation timber value chains associated with forest certification in Bac Ninh Province.
The training brought together 30 participants, including officials, cooperative members, and farmers from six communes of Bac Ninh Province. The course focused on enhancing understanding of Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) under the Vietnam Forest Certification Scheme (VFCS), the steps for implementation, and common non-conformities encountered in practice. During the training, participants also visited large-size eucalyptus plantations and acacia plantations using improved varieties, and received guidance on productivity-enhancing techniques such as pruning, post-harvest residue management, and forest protection measures.

Through this training, forest owners and local management agencies gained better knowledge of SFM practices and are now equipped to further disseminate them within their communities. This marks an important step for Bac Ninh Province in building certified plantation forest models, thereby creating competitive advantages for its timber products in the market.
