Guidelines for Implementing the EUDR for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs)

The EUDR will take effect on December 30, 2025, for large enterprises and on June 30, 2026, for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Through the sub-project Supporting SMEs in Implementing the EUDR under the Vietnam – Switzerland Trade Cooperation Program, Vietnam Forest Certification Office (VFCO) has issued the Guidelines for Implementing Deforestation-free Agricultural Production.

These guidelines apply to enterprises in general, with a particular focus on SMEs, and cover the main product groups of wood, rubber, and coffee. The key contents include: (1) Identifying actors in the supply chain and their responsibilities; (2) Guidance for primary producers and suppliers of raw materials; (3) Guidance for intermediaries (traders); (4) Guidance for processing enterprises; (5) Guidance for exporting enterprises.

Along with step-by-step instructions for each supply chain actor, the guidelines also provide templates to ensure legal compliance, prevent deforestation and forest degradation, declare products, and implement due diligence. In addition, VFCO is developing an EUDR database to ensure product traceability and transparency in compliance with EUDR requirements.

In the coming period, VFCO will work with relevant stakeholders to organize training courses and outreach activities to introduce these guidelines to enterprises and organizations. Please follow us on our website for detailed information.
