TCVN 14596:2025 was issued by the Ministry of Science and Technology under Decision No. 4664/QĐ-BKHCN dated 31 December 2025. The standard was developed by the Sustainable Forest Management Certification Office (VFCO), based on the inheritance and alignment with internationally recognized principles and practices for sustainable forest management, requirements related to the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), and relevant market requirements.

TCVN 14596:2025 specifies sustainable forest management requirements applicable to forest owners and managers of trees outside forests, and will be applied within the Vietnam Forest Certification Scheme (VFCS/PEFC).
