On December 04th to 06th, 2024, Vietnam Forest Certification Office (VFCO) cooperated with the Agricultural Extension Center of Tuyen Quang Province to organize a training course on “Skills in organizing production according to the sustainable plantation value chain and product marketing”. The training course was attended 30 trainees, including agricultural extension officers, cooperative members, rural commune officers, farmers and members of the community agricultural extension team in the province.
During the training course, trainees were introduced SFM standard and how to apply in practice, SFM plan, linkage smallholder to establish group of SFM, common non-conformities and method to bring products to market through linkages with wood processing and manufacturing factories.
On the fiel, the trainees practiced analyzing and identifying non-conformities
related to the environment, transportation
routes and occupational safety. In addition, the trainees
were introduced to techniques applied to sustainable forest management and improving forest productivity such
as pruning techniques, post-harvest material management. This knowledge is necessary for trainees on SFM practice and
they will transfer to local farmers throughout training course, communication
activity and technical guideline.
