On July 6, 2025, Thuan Nhien Forestry Cooperative – representing a forest management group in Yen Son District, Tuyen Quang Province – was officially awarded Sustainable Forest Management certification in accordance with the VFCS/PEFC standard by SGS Vietnam.

The total certified forest area covers 3,620.18 hectares, with the participation of 1,376 households in Yen Son District, across four communes: Dao Vien, Hung Loi, Kien Thiet, and Trung Truc. The main certified species include hybrid acacia and Acacia mangium, primarily grown for the production of hardwood for furniture, wood chips, and wood pellets.

This certification model is led by Thuan Nhien Forestry Cooperative as the group manager, providing technical support to its members to meet the requirements of the VFCS/PEFC standard. This achievement raises the total number of certified forest owners in Vietnam to 45, with a combined certified forest area of 232.246 hectares.

This milestone demonstrates that achieving certification not only helps improve the quality of plantation forests and the value of timber products, but also affirms the local community’s commitment to advancing sustainable forestry – balancing economic, social, and environmental goals.
