The National Forest Certification Scheme (VFCS) certifies sustainable forest management according to VFCS/PEFC ST 1003:2019, VFCS/PEFC ST 1004:2019 and the chain of custody of products according to PEFC standards. These standards are provided the Standards & Guidelines page.
In addition, VFCS and PEFC will develop standards for certifying carbon benefits, non timber forest products (NTFPs) and other forest based ecosystem services.
Certification body (CB) is a third-party conformity assessment organization that implements a certification scheme. CBs who perform the services of certification of sustainable forest management under the Vietnam Forest Certification Scheme (VFCS) and certification of Chain of Custody under the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC CoC) shall meet the requirements of the standards: VFCS/PEFC ST 1006:2022 and PEFC ST 2003:2020.
Eligible certification bodies can apply to be notified to implement the certification services with the Vietnam Forest Certification Office (VFCO). The process of CB notification is carried out according to the VFCS/PEFC GD 1007:2022.

The logos of VFCS and PEFC are registered for protection in Vietnam and over the world. VFCO is the agency that manages and grants the right to use VFCS and PEFC logos to certified organizations and individuals (for SFM, CoC) in Vietnam. The following table presents the VFCS’ tariffs of notification fees applied to individuals and organizations who are certified under the VFCS/PEFC. The tariffs of notification fees are valid from 01/01/2022 to 31/12/2025.
The annual turnover of organizations and individuals supplying and processing wood and forest products participating in PEFC CoC certification is determined as follows:
