On 18 August 2022 in Quy Nhon city, Binh Dinh province, Vietnam Administration of Forestry – VNFOREST coordinate with Traffic to organize seminars “Sustainable forest management and responsible forest products trade” with the objective of creating market linkages between responsible forest growers, processors and traders.

There were more than 40 delegates who are from VNFOREST, Traffic organization, forest protection department Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Quang Nam, Vietnam Timber and Forest Product Association, Forest Products Associatinon of Binh Dinh and wood processing enterprises in Binh Dinh province attending the conference. Mr Nguyen Hoang Tiep, Vice director of VFCO, attended the conference and shared about Vietnam Forest Certification Scheme (VFCS) and solutions for developing certified and legal timber materials.

At the conference, the representative of VNFOREST updated the policies related to sustainable forest management, forest certification and updated the implementation status of Vietnam’s timber assurance system VNTLAS. Delegates discussed solutions to promote sustainable forest management and forest certification, including solutions to develop sustainable forest management and forest certification projects at the provincial level to mobilize funds to support forest certification and integrate forest certificate, CoC certificate with the implement solutions to ensure legal timber.
